There are many good programs out there, but none of them put together the theoretical and practical elements in such a comprehensive and effective way. The philosophy of this program includes:

in HIS image will be the central hub around which you will organize and implement all the pieces of your weight loss, and weight loss maintenance, equation.
Our vision is to start 25 small groups in Jacksonville, FL. Although the small group will be the backbone of the program, we will also organize city-wide events for teaching, training, support, and community. Ultimately we intend to reproduce this concept in cities around the country.
Doug Doan: Doug is uniquely qualified to spearhead this ministry. He was a pastor, has a masters degree in counseling, has counseled hundreds of people about weight issues, and has skills in vision, leadership, writing, internet, creating, and publishing. In addition, he is a fellow struggler, actively pursuing the development and implementation of his own personal equation.
Doug believes that God put this ministry on his heart due to a perceived lack of a program that put the elements of success together in such a way that it actually helped most people win the battle over the long run. Many programs help people with short-term victories; but true transformation, inner and outer, is a herculean goal, and we need all the help we can get. This program is an attempt to meet that perceived need.

Angelique Summerset: Angelique joined Doug in the very early stages of the development of this ministry. She had already experienced much personal transformation through participation in one of Doug's Lose it for Life phone groups, as well as other programs and materials.
Angelique has a passion for seeing people change from the inside-out, using their weight problem as an "excuse" for total personal transformation. She is earning a degree in culinary management from Florida Community College at Jacksonville (FCCJ). She has a degree in English (with an emphasis in writing) from the University of Florida. She has professional experience in writing and editing, as well as in the adult education arena in training, staff development, and instructional design.
She is also a fellow struggler, working on developing and implementing her own personal equation. She is a committed believer and an invaluable co-participant with Doug in this ministry. She has a strong gift of intercession. Her e-mail address is photogirl579@yahoo.com.
